A patch you can see is a patch that was rushed. Drywall repair is about feathering the compound far enough out and priming the repair so it absorbs paint at the same rate as the wall around it.
We cut back to sound material, replace board or lath where needed, tape, float in multiple thin coats, sand, and prime every repair before finish coats. For water damage we find and flag the source first — there is no point closing a wall that is still getting wet. We also handle popcorn ceiling removal and skim coating to a level-four or level-five finish where you want walls that read flat under raking light.
